Alberto Ghelfi
Alberto Ghelfi is the head of the International Customs and Transportation Department at Bacciardi and Partners. He provides comprehensive customs law assistance on the classification, valuation of goods, and determination of the country-of-origin of goods for importation. He is also experienced in transportation law, courier responsibilities resulting
from the international shipment of goods and domestic and cross-border VAT issues connected with the transportation of goods.
Mr. Ghelfi also works with law enforcement personnel in conducting investigations of entities engaged in the commerce of counterfeit goods and has developed an extensive knowledge of Italian and Foreign laws created to fight counterfeiting of products on a worldwide level.
In 1996, Alberto Ghelfi, received his law degree from the Bologna University School of Law. In 1999 he was admitted into practice in Italy as an attorney. In 2002 he was admitted into practice in Italy as a Customs Broker. Prior to joining Bacciardi and Partners, Mr. Ghelfi worked in one of the major Italian shipping companies as in-house counsel, dealing with statutory and regulatory requirements associated with claiming preferential duty rates under the generalized system of preferences (GSP) and other trade agreements.
