During this period I did practice almost all kinds of legal work: litigation, criminal prosecution and civil litigation on behalf of the Government. I was appointed a judge-advocate in many Court-Martial trials to advise both defence and courts. 1967 – 1972 A member of the Sudanese Judiciary. I presided over civil and criminal courts. London University 1980. Training : Most of my effective training was on the job. During the period from 15th. to 28th. Of December 1994 I attended a course in Dubai arranged by Euro Training on “Effective Contract administration- Claims Avoidance and Negotiating Claims” based on FIDIC. Attended and participated in some professional conferences and meeting, e.g. The Arab Lawyers League Conference 1975, Baghdad, The Arab Organisation For the Prevention of CRIME, 1977, Cairo, the Union of Arab Lawyers Conference 1989, Damascus. A member of The Qatari Delegation to the International Telecommunication Conference in Kyoto- Japan- Sept.- Oct. 1994. In 1996, I attended a symposium held in Dubai on the effect of GATT on Telecommunications Industry. I was member of Qatar’s delegation to the meeting held in Abu Dhabi- UAE in January 1996 for the formation of Al Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications Co. A member of the Qatari Delegation to ITU Conference in Minneapolis U.S. October to November 1998. In July 2001, I was chosen as an expert in Qatari law and testified, in this capacity, before an arbitration panel in New York to which a dispute between Middle East Trade Company ( a Qatari Co.) and M E T V Chrysler (an American Co.) was referred. Other Details: a member of Abdin Ismail’s Law office. Took part in negotiations between Q-Tel and Cable and Wireless in 1987. Advised, on request, and wrote notes on one major arbitration cases for the Department of legal affairs, Qatari Ministry of Justice. I wrote articles on Preventive Retention, 1977, Legal Aid 1978, Protection of Tenant 1979, The September 1983 Nimeri Islamic Laws as the Sudanese Example of the Thought and Methodology of the Contemporary Political – Islamist Movements, 1992- and on many other Sudanese Laws.
