Zhanar Kassymbekova joined SGA in 2010 as Partner for Corporate Law mergers and acquisitions and international commercial arbitration.
Professional experience of Zhanar Kassymbekova is more than 17 years of work for leading international law firms; 12 years of which she had managerial positions and headed separate areas of legal practice in Kazakhstan.
Ms. Kassymbekova advises clients on Corporate, Tax, Customs Laws, as well as on issues relating to Energy and Subsoil Use, Antimonopoly Regulation, Securities Markets, M&A and on other spheres of doing business in Kazakhstan.
Being a leading legal expert on taxation, Zhanar Kassymbekova successfully represents clients at state agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including tax and customs authorities, financial police and prosecutor’s office on all matters associated with taxation. Zhanar Kassymbekova has a number of publications on issues of international taxation.
In 2009 Zhanar Kassymbekova was awarded the ”International Arbitration Team of the Year”( Lawyers, Academics & Consultants Award 2009) as the best lawyer of the year in the field of international arbitration.
Zhanar Kassymbekova is a Member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), Arbitrator of International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Eurasian Mediation Center (ICAC).
Member of Kazakhstan Petroleum Lawyers’ Association.
Zhanar Kassymbekova is fluent in Russian and English.
