Abiola Tayo-Oyetibo

Mrs. Abiola Tayo-Oyetibo is the Managing Partner of the Firm. She graduated from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife Nigeria (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1985 with Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree. She attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos for her professional training and obtained the Certificate of Call to the Bar in 1986.

After being called to the Bar, she carried out her National Youth Service assignment in the 1986/1987 service year in the Legal Department of The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd, Ogunu Warri.

She proceeded to University College, University of London, United Kingdom in 1987 for her Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) in Corporate and Commercial Law, and obtained her degree in 1988.

On her return to Nigeria, Mrs. Tayo-Oyetibo worked briefly with the law firm of Olumuyiwa Sotuminu & Co, where she was engaged in litigation, trademarks and patents, and general legal practice.

She joined the services of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc in September 1989, and worked in the Legal Department of the Bank till 1998 when she was posted to the Corporate Banking Department of the Bank where she established the Legal Unit.

She returned to the Legal Department in 2004. She rose through the ranks of the corporate ladder, and distinguished herself through dint of hard work and professional diligence. Mrs. Tayo-Oyetibo handled various transactions and the preparation and vetting of legal documentations in respect of various local and international commercial transactions involving large volume credit facilities, guarantees, bonds, debentures and mortgages. In addition, in her role as in-house solicitor, she was involved in the monitoring of litigation matters, particularly with respect to recovery of debts handled by external counsel instructed by the Bank. She rose to the management cadre in the Department and the Bank as a whole.

In 2010, she voluntarily retired from the services of the Bank and joined the Firm as Partner (General Management).

Mrs. Tayo-Oyetibo has attended various seminars, conferences and workshops both within the country and abroad.

She is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (U.K)
